Put the Gargoyles Together Before Moving to the Plates

Solve Underkeep's Blightvein Mine puzzle by moving the two gargoyles next to each other first, then using the preserved approach space to push them onto the two floor pressure plates. The adjacent-statue position is an intermediate setup that leaves room for the later pushes.

02

Check the Statues and Their Targets

Blightvein Mine has two movable gargoyles and two floor pressure plates. Check those pieces and targets before applying this setup. A room with four gargoyles and leaf-etched destination stones belongs to the Gravewood Crypt puzzle instead.

03

Arrange the Gargoyles, Then Push Onto the Plates

  1. Move the gargoyles next to each other to establish the temporary opening arrangement. This preserves the approach space needed for the later pushes.
  2. Approach the gargoyles through the space preserved by that arrangement. Use this room to line up the later pushes toward the floor plates.
  3. Push the gargoyles onto the floor pressure plates using the approach space you kept open. The finished arrangement places both gargoyles on their targets.
04

Why the Statues Start Together

Moving the gargoyles next to each other creates a temporary setup for the later pushes. It preserves space to approach them, which is why the opening matters even though the floor plates are the final targets. Keep that approach space in mind instead of trying to send each statue straight to its destination.

Before committing to a push, consider how you will approach the remaining statue afterward. Judge the move by whether your plan still leaves room for the pushes you need. Use the adjacent arrangement as the starting point for that plan.

05

Reset a Blocked Arrangement

Blightvein Mines has a reset lever for its gargoyle puzzle. If your current arrangement prevents the pushes you need, use the lever and begin again with the adjacent-statue setup. After restarting, review the approach space before committing to the next push.

06

Recognize Gravewood Crypt's Different Layout

Gravewood Crypt uses four gargoyles on a 4-by-4 floor grid, with four leaf-etched destination stones. Blightvein Mine uses two gargoyles and two floor plates, so keep the layouts separate when following a solution. Check the statue count and the appearance of the targets before applying a route.

The reset mechanisms also differ: Blightvein Mine has a reset lever, while Gravewood Crypt received a statue reset button in patch 1.0.4. Use the mine's lever when you need to restart this arrangement. Return to the adjacent-gargoyle opening before working toward the mine's floor plates.
