Find the Puzzle That Matches Your Room

Underkeep's puzzle rooms include throwable-item pressure plates in Hollowgrave Tunnels, gargoyles in Blightvein Mine and Gravewood Crypt, and a green lantern encounter in Duskhollow Woods. Identify your room by its location and objects, then follow the matching interaction below.

02

Recognize Statues, Lanterns, Flames and Symbols

Location or ClueObjects and Required Interaction
Hollowgrave TunnelsTrap holes and pressure plates identify this puzzle. Use thrown inventory objects to trigger the plates across the gaps.
Blightvein MineLook for two gargoyles. This is a statue-pushing puzzle: preserve access for later pushes while working toward the marked tiles or plates.
Gravewood CryptFour gargoyles and leaf-etched squares distinguish this room. Plan the pushes around the marked squares while keeping room to move the remaining statues.
Duskhollow WoodsThe green lantern and summoned spirit identify this encounter. Guide the spirit back alive to complete its required interaction.
MausoleumIdentify the Mausoleum puzzles by their altars, colored flames and braziers. Check those objects before applying a solution meant for another flame room.
Chambers of Endless SleepLight the entrance brazier and the four braziers arranged in a square. Leave the remaining braziers dark to open the chamber.
Sanctum of the Last FlameActivate the symbols in this order: Flame, Crown, Eye, Tree, Serpent. Use the symbol sequence to distinguish this puzzle from the brazier patterns.
Four Points Seek One HeartThe five-pip pattern identifies this clue. Match that pattern before deciding whether another room's statue, lantern or flame instructions apply.
Soul ForgeLook for colored seals. Use red plus green for yellow, or red plus blue for purple, according to the color you need.
Tower, level threeThis room must be darkened before its switch is revealed. Darkness is the interaction to check when searching for the switch.

Plan Statue Pushes Before Moving a Gargoyle

  1. Save before pushing a statue so you have a way back if the arrangement becomes blocked.
  2. Inspect the marked tiles or plates so you can plan each statue's destination before committing to a push.
  3. Plan access for the following push, keeping the movable objects from crowding the center of the room.
  4. Push a statue toward its marked destination while preserving enough room to approach the remaining movable objects.
  5. Pause before a push whose follow-up you cannot explain, giving yourself time to reassess the space it would leave.

Judge a proposed move by its destination and the pushing space it leaves available. Work out where you would stand for the next move before making the current one. If the layout starts to feel crowded, stop and review it before adding another object to the same area.

04

Throw Inventory Objects onto Tunnel Plates

  1. Choose an inventory object for the distant pressure plate so you can attempt the interaction across the gap.
  2. Place the held item at the top of the screen to throw it toward the pressure plate.
  3. Check the pressure plate after the throw to see whether the object triggered the interaction you need.

At the beginning dungeon's metal gate, look for the lock on the side wall. That gate requires a key. The wall torches are not the solution there, so keep exploring for the key instead of trying a lighting sequence.

05

Recover a Blocked Statue or Return Route

Gravewood Crypt gained a puzzle reset button in patch 1.0.4. Use that button if the full-game statue arrangement becomes blocked. Earlier Gravewood builds may require loading an earlier save, which makes saving before the initial pushes especially useful.

If an ordinary trap cuts off a passage, check the map and the associated switch or pressure plate before abandoning the route. Review which interaction controls the obstruction. Treat the blocked passage as something to investigate before deciding that you need to reload.

The demo's separate statue puzzle has a corridor reset. Keep that method separate from the released game's Gravewood Crypt reset button. Match the reset instructions to the puzzle you are actually playing before retracing a corridor.
